Canada is recognized worldwide for its outstanding quality of education and has welcomed millions international students from around the globe for decades.Over 600,000 international students enroll in post-secondary institutions every year. In order to do so, they must obtain a study permit issued by the Canadian government.
They apply for a Study permit from outside Canada and receive an approval and visa in order to travel to Canada. At port of Entry (Airport or landed border or sea), a final examination is performed by the CBSA officer and students are issued a Study Permit. The Study Permit is valid up to the completion of the course, often the date mentioned on the Letter of Acceptance given by the Institution.
An online application is submitted through portal on IRCC website. Required application forms along with supporting documents are submitted in the required format. There is a C$150 Study Permit application fee in addition to $85 Bio metrics fee. Bio metrics are valid for up to 10 years.
