Express Entry
Express Entry is an immigration system which was initiated in 2015 as a pathway to Permanent Residence in Canada. There are 3 ways to become Permanent resident under Express Entry class: Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades and Canadian Experience Class. Each category has its own eligibility requirements and application processing procedures.
Federal Skilled worker program:
It is designed for people who immigrate to Canada on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada with their foreign work experience, language ability and education. Only candidates with the highest rankings will be invited to apply for permanent resident status, in addition to meeting the Comprehensive Ranking System which is used to rank candidates’ human capital. Program eligibility: Applications are based on the selection factors in the federal skilled worker point grid.

Federal Skilled Trades:
Designed for people who immigrate to Canada on the basis of having work experience in the skilled trades such as industrial, electrical, construction, technical occupations, in natural resources, agriculture, and manufacturing. If you are belong to this group, you may qualify for permanent residence under the Skilled Trade class.

There are lots of demand in Canadian industries for skilled trade workers but you must meet the minimum requirements to be eligible for this program. You must also meet the requirements for job and job duties classified under the National Occupation Classification (NOC), along with required language proficiency. In addition, you must have an offer of employment and certificate of qualification in that skilled trade. You must also be admissible to Canada.

Program eligibility:
the requirements are as follows:

  • Plan live in province other than Quebec
  • Meet the required Language abilities
  • Have at least 2 years of full time work experience in skilled trades within 5 years before you apply.
  • Meet all job requirements as set out in the National Occupational Classification.
  • Have an offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least one year OR a Certificate of Qualification in that skilled trade issued by a provincial or territorial body.
